2011 Mazda Global Pickup

The all-new Mazda BT-50 was unveiled at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney - and no, it will not be coming to America anytime soon.

Mazda's latest pickup includes a redesigned exterior, with updated chassis and suspension, provided by Ford (Mazda's new truck is based on the global, non-US, Ford Ranger).

Mazda Will Build Greenest Car Engine

By 2013, Mazda wants to have the greenest engine around - and if all works out they will. Mazda's plan is to implement a 70 miles per gallon drivetrain into their upcoming MAZDA2. A Mazda spokesman clarified the 70 MPG result was from a Japanese test cycle. Fuel economy numbers will be lower in the United States, but still well above the competition's.

Mazda Sales Up 30% in September

Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) today reported September sales of 18,580, an increase of 30.5 percent compared to last September.  Year-to-date sales through September, 2010, stand at 174,770, and are outpacing last year's sales at this time by 9.1 percent (up 9.6 percent DSR).

Mazda's successful crossover SUVs posted huge gains in September.  CX-7 reported sales of 2,573 units, up 64.8 percent, while CX-9 posted its best September since 2007 with sales 2,420 units, up 74.1 percent.

Mazda To Exhibit Special Needs Vehicles

Over in Mazda's homeland of Japan the auto maker is displaying their vehicles produced to help those with special needs. Mazda Motor Corporation brought these vehicles to the 37th International Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition 2010 in Tokyo.

The exhibition, which is organized by Japan's Health and Welfare Information Association, will be held at Tokyo International Exhibition Center from September 29 through October 1, 2010.
